Vanessa
I am the founder of Normandy Panorama. I studied foreign languages applied to business for four years and lived in Northern Ireland for a year. After working for the D-Day Museum in Arromanches and the Caen Memorial for peace museum, I decided to create my company Normandy Panorama in 2010.
I am a specialist of the Second World War, I will guide you on the 5 sectors of the landing beaches but also the battle of Normandy. I also guide in the abbey of Mont Saint Michel, Bayeux, Caen, the Pays d’auge area and the flowery coast. I also like to make discover the normandy gastronomy: the cheese, the calvados, the cider and the famous caramels of Isigny sur mer.
I’m a person who is definitely in love with her native region. We have so many beautiful places to visit in Normandy from the middle ages (william the conqueror) to modern history. Normandy is also rich by its culture and gastronomy. I have many stories to share with you on the dday and battle of Normandy subject. Growing up on the Gold beach sector, playing in bunkers , seeing the British veterans parading in my village for june 6th ceremonies, gave me the interest about the history of the second wolrd war. Meeting veterans and listening their stories was an honor. I am probably one of the last generation of tour guides who were able to get their direct account. I want to keep their memories alive and giving tours is the opportunity to do it especially today when there are only a few of them still alive.
My goal is also to preserve peace by learning the history and not only go on a site to just have one more place to tick in the box.
Freedom has a cost and this cost was paid by many soldiers and families around the world.
