DDay Half day Tour

You only have a few hours to visit the landing beaches, the half day tour is for you.

You can choose to hire me with the transportation service in my car or you can hire me only for guiding which means I’ll come in your car.

I can meet you at the most convenient place your hotel in Bayeux or Caen area or the train station in Bayeux ( which is the closest one).

For a pick up further away, an extra fee will be applied and will have to be paid on the day of the tour.

Within this time frame, i can show you some the hightlights of the DDay beaches:

• Pointe du hoc Battery where the 2nd ranger batallion scaled the cliff to destroy the canons up there on DDAY and had to fight on this cliff for 2 days. One of the highest casualties sites.
• Omaha beach: we’ll make a stop on Omaha Beach in Vierville-sur-mer know as Dog Green sector , represented in the Steven Spielberg movie Saving private Ryan  in 1998.
• The Normandy American Cemetery:  9387 men and women are buried on a land overlooking Omaha Beach ; 1557  men are listed on the wall of the missings. I will explain everything about the cemetery, from its creation and of course I will tell the stories of some soldiers buried here in Normandy.

The tour can be in the morning from 9-1pm or from 1pm to 5pm.
